MEET MS. INTERNATIONAL BEAUTY®

Kimberly Horikoshi (formerly Root), 36, from Youngstown, Ohio was crowned Ms International Beauty® 2021 on December 12,2021 in Lake Forest California. Kimberly was recently married in 2022 and currently resides in San Ramon, CA working as an executive practice assistant at a wealth management firm.

Kimberly’s passion and platform is equality for women in the sport of wrestling and she wants to continue her work in advocating for girls’ wrestling to be sanctioned in all 50 states. At the time of the pageant, only 32 states sanctioned girls’ wrestling. As of April 2022, four more states sanctioned the sport, meaning that 36 states have Girls’ Wrestling State Championships recognized by a state high school executive association. This is a huge win, but the work isn’t done yet, until every girl has an equal opportunity. Her message is a simple one, “As women, we can be and do so many things. We don’t have to be boxed in. We can be tough and beautiful, without having to chose and compromise. Girls should have equal opportunities to their male counterparts.”
